According to different installation methods, we have pressure type axial flow andopen channel axial flow hydro generators. Pressure type turbine has horizontal and vertical type.
The hydraulic design of kaplan turbine is a cooperated with Dr. Punit Singh, Centre for Sustainable Technologies, Indian Institute of Science, using computational fluid dynamic technology (CFD).
Open channel axial hydroelectric generator is composed of micro axial hydraulic turbine and generator mounted in one shaft. Hydraulic turbine is mainly composed of inlet guide vane, rotating impeller, draft tube, main shaft, base, bearing et al. As high pressure fluid is guided into draft tube, vacuum is formed. Upstream water guided by inlet channel and volute would enter guide vane and force the rotor to rotate. Therefore, the high pressure energy and high velocity dynamic energy is transformed into power.
Installation and structure
The vertical open channel axial-flow generator set is an all-in-one machine with the following technical advantages:
1.Light in weight and small in size, which is easy to install, transport and maintain.
2. The turbine has 5 bearings, which is more reliable.
